| Qualification | Head Constable (Steward):: 12th class pass from a recognized Board + Diploma of minimum two years duration in Catering and Kitchen Management from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government. Experience: Minimum 1 year as Steward in 100-bedded hospital/institution Head Constable (Communication): 12th class pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board; OR Three years Diploma in Electronics or Communications or Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized Institute. Head Constable (Electrician): Matric + 2 years experience OR ITI Certificate + 1 year experience OR 2 years ITI Diploma Experience: Relevant trade experience (must qualify trade test) Head Constable (Veterinary): 12th with Science & Biology + 2 years Diploma in Veterinary/Livestock/Animal Husbandry |

SSB Head Constable Recruitment Age Limits and Relaxation
Minimum 18 Years and Maximum 27 Years as on last date of application (20/04/2026). Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, Ex-servicemen and other reserved categories as per Government rules. Age relaxation is NOT admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen. Date of Birth (D.O.B.) and name as recorded in Matriculation certificate will be accepted for determining the age and name. No subsequent request for change in date of birth and name will be considered.
